Iceland Northern Lights!

Northern lights season 2022 / 23 has started. Activity levels have been high. Iceland is the best place to see the northern lights for several reasons, one being that Iceland is at the right latitude and has an international airport less than one hour’s drive from Reykjavik.

The Aurora Borealis, more commonly referred to as the Northern Lights, is a natural phenomenon created when solar wind particles interact with the Earth’s magnetic field. This excites the particles that release energy, causing peculiar luminous green and purple streaks across the skies.
